Backed by specialists and a network of resources, Extension Agents have been on the job in Georgia since 1914.

Proper Care and Pruning of Muscadines

Muscadines (Vitis rotundifolia) thrive in Southern climates, but proper care and pruning are key to maintaining healthy, productive vines. Special guest, Dr. Sarah Lowder, Viticulture Specialist at the University of Georgia, will guide attendees through best practices for seasonal pruning, vine training techniques, and soil management strategies to maximize fruit yield. Viewers will also learn how to prevent common pests and diseases while keeping their muscadine vines strong year after year. Perfect for backyard growers and enthusiasts, this session will provide practical, step-by-step insights to help cultivate a thriving muscadine harvest. This webinar will be followed up by in person workshop on pruning techniques on Saturday, December 6 at Vines Park in Loganville.
