EFNEP

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program helps Georgia families eat better for less!
Funded since 1969 by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and delivered through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, EFNEP offers practical nutrition and physical activity information, food safety education, food resource management strategies, and recipe demonstrations within community settings throughout the state.
黑料网 EFNEP delivers interactive educational sessions where participants try new recipes and learn how to improve nutrition practices, stretch their food dollars, and prevent food-borne illness. We provide all teaching materials and recipe ingredients at no cost to our partners or participants.
黑料网 EFNEP programming is based on the Food Talk curriculum. Food Talk is designed for caregivers and parents of young children as well as pregnant women and teens. Families who are eligible for any type of public assistance are eligible for EFNEP.
EFNEP participants report significant savings on their grocery bills each month. Participants also improve diet quality, increase physical activity, and more often follow food safety guidelines.
If you are interested in participating in EFNEP, please contact Walker County Extension at 706-638-2548 or walker.extension@uga.edu.
